Woke up this morning to 'nam style rain (as my bro-in-law would say) and absolutely zero urge to get out of bed. But, after I got that first cup of coffee in me I was ready to move and start thinking about music for the day. I immediately starting thinking about strictly acoustic stuff, maybe some Jeff Tweedy, maybe some Ryan Adams, perhaps some old school Jim James? But then, I remembered the brand new Iron & Wine record sitting in my office waiting to be played and dialed up some good ol' Sam Beam, just him and his Taylor.
This set accompanies the last Iron & Wine post, at the Lakeshore Theater, which was recorded the evening before (and I was at). He played a couple of REALLY intimate sets here in Chicago and we were lucky enough to get them recorded right.
Check out the latest from Iron & Wine, Ghost on Ghost, and go see them on tour, Sam Beam is a great performer.
Toss this on, make some tea, and gaze out the window.
